Be part of the Breakthrough

On Saturday 15th August, SANFL will once again be supporting our good friends at Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation, by endorsing the Breakthrough Community Round.

Football clubs across South Australia to don the purple and blue armbands, raising awareness to tackle mental health head on.

With one in five Australians diagnosed with a mental health issue and more people aged between 15-44 years dying from suicide than any other cause – it is imperative we support ground-breaking research to better understand what causes mental illness, how to treat it, and how to prevent it from happening.

More than 80 clubs took part last year and while we appreciate this season will look a little different thanks to COVID-19 – it’s never been a more important time to support the mental health of your players, officials, volunteers and families that make up the fabric of your community.
